My blackcurrants have proven their worth. I have so far 12lb of blackcurrants and no room in my tiny freezer for more.
It has taken me about 7 plus hours just to pick them all and there are still some more to go black. My variety, Ben Sarek is supposed to all go black together which would save time when picking but they haven’t.
This year many people have said their currents are very sour perhaps due to the weird weather and mine are no different but they will be used. At the moment they are going on my porridge in the mornings.
Seriously though I really need a bigger freezer!
